Peggy S. Risner
Peggy was hired as administrative secretary at the WRRI in February of 2001 and has been with New Mexico State University since 1981. She handles the billing aspects of the office, including purchase requisitions, check requests, journal entries, deposits, travel arrangements/reimbursements for the staff, membership/publication renewal fees, and the office procurement card system. Peggy works on special projects as assigned such as the Five-year Annual Report, conference proceedings, and registration for symposia and water conferences. She also keeps a calendar of scheduled meetings for the staff.
Peggy is working toward completing her English degree by taking a class each semester. She loves animals and is a member of NMSU's Feral Cat Management program that works to stabilize the feral cat population on campus by feeding and trapping them for neutering and vaccinating; tipping their left ear to identify them as having been spayed/neutered; then returning them to campus where they live out their lives. Peggy is an amateur photographer and periodically takes photos for the institute's publications and its webpage. She is married, has two stepdaughters, and three grandchildren.
