Deborah is responsible for the administration of research project activities and financial operations at the institute. Her duties include pre- and post-award research administration and supervising the institute's financial activities. Deborah joined WRRI in October of 2004 and has worked at NMSU since 1991. She transferred from the University Library after 11 years as a library specialist.

Deborah has a B.S. in soil science. She is a native Las Crucen and is married to Marvin Allen, a retired counselor and fireman.
