Presentation Guidelines
Time Frame
Each presenter will be allotted 20 minutes for their presentation. Presenter introductions will be very brief as each presenter's biographical sketch will be contained with his/her abstract in the participant's notebook (presenters with accepted abstracts will be asked to provide the WRRI with a brief biographical sketch). However, you can figure that about two minutes will be taken when your introduction is made, and you may want to allow a few minutes from the 20-minute timeslot for questions.
Computer Presentations
We encourage presenters with computer presentations (e.g., Powerpoint) to provide the WRRI with a copy of their presentation
no later than July 29, 2010. These presentations will be pre-loaded on the WRRI computers so that we are confident that there will be no last minute glitches and we will save time by not switching equipment.
Handouts
If you want to provide participants with handouts (in addition to the abstract that will be included in the notebook), you must either provide the WRRI with the handout
by July 23, 2010 so that copies can be made and inserted into notebooks (these can be submitted in electronic format), or bring copies with you to hand out at the symposium.
Poster Guidelines
Poster Set Up
Accepted posters can be set up
between 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010 in the upper lobby of the Macey Center at New Mexico Tech. Alternatively, posters can be set up beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Posters should be set up by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
Time Frame
Those presenting posters should be at their poster during the morning and afternoon breaks and at lunch.
Facilities
Poster boards will be provided and are 6 feet wide by 5 feet tall (6' x 5'). Tacks and tape can be used on the boards. Handouts should be put into a manila envelope and attached to the board. Student authors looking for a job have found it very productive to have copies of their resume available.
Those requiring electrical outlets must notify Cathy Ortega Klett 575-646-1195; coklett-at-wrri-dot-nmsu-dot-edu*)
