Annual New Mexico Water Conferences
NM WRRI has been hosting an annual water conference for over half a century. The conference is held each fall rotating to different cities throughout the state. The two-day meeting provides a public forum for the discussion of important and often critical state water issues. The Water Conference Advisory Committee includes water experts from various entities around the state and meets annually to recommend a theme, topics, and speakers for the upcoming conference. Each year a comprehensive conference proceedings is produced.

Annual New Mexico Water Research Symposium
While the annual water conference is primarily aimed at water policy issues, the annual technical research symposium attracts about 200 water experts from around the state to discuss their latest research and technological developments relevant to water resources. Brief presentations are made and posters displayed at the one-day event in late summer. The symposium, held since 2002, brings together researchers from academia, the national laboratories, state and federal agencies, private firms, and students from throughout the Southwest. The Symposium Planning Committee suggests a theme and reviews abstracts submitted for oral and poster presentations. In 2006, a student presentation and paper competition was held and winning students received recognition and a cash prize. All poster and presentation abstracts are available below.
